No. While the martial arts you see in the movies looks dangerous, what is taught in our school is not. Martial arts offer children proper exercise, fun, and mental discipline. They teach courtesy, patience, respect, and perseverance.
We teach a mixture of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Jiu Jitsu. It is called Freestyle Sports Karate, however, our black belts and members are recognized by the All Japan Karate-do Federation, the International Tae Kwon Do Federation, and the Canadian Jiu Jitsu Association. We find this combination makes our system exciting, effective, and fun.
When you visit our facility you will realize class size is not a concern due to the size of the training area. What is important is the student to teacher ratio at 12 to 1. It is our policy to have at least two instructors per class. Building confidence requires a personal atmosphere. Without that our school would just become a physical fitness assembly line.

No. You are only as old as you think you are. We have people of all ages join and enjoy our program.

We have a special program designed for 4,5 and 6 year olds. It is called Little Dragons and it focuses on discipline, balance, co-ordination, and listening skills. The initial meeting with our instructor will determine if your child is ready.
We recommend 2-3 times per week in order for students to reach black belt within 4-5 years. This is the average time it takes to reach black belt. Remember, learning is a repetitive process, the more often you do it the more benefits you will receive.
